Mercury is a hazardous waste. Federal regulations require that

Mercury be disposed of properly.

CAUTION

3. Open thermostat (mounting base) to expose mounting holes. The base

can be removed to simplify mounting. Press the thumb release at the top

of the thermostat and snap apart carefully to separate mounting base from

remainder of thermostat.

4. Route thermosta t wires through la rge hole in mounting base. Level mounting

base agains t wall (for aes t hetic val ue only— t hermosta t need not be le vel for

proper ope r ation) and mar k wall through 2 mounti ng hole s. See Fig. 1.
